Me
I live and work in Northampton, UK with my wife and two kids.
My work status fluctuates somewhere between chaotically overworked and comfortably freelance. I am however, always available for interesting new projects.
I am currently partially contracted to
Goodness Direct when I am not working freelance, where I perform P.A. duties and internet marketing.
My attitude
I work to live and not the other way around but I love to get my inspiration flowing on worthy projects.
I don’t claim to be a ‘professional’. It’s not that I don’t play with the ‘big boys’ (I’m just usually not allowed to talk about the best projects I’ve worked on), but those that claim to be ‘professionals’ in such an industry get very full of themselves very quickly. I like to get straight to the point with less talking and get the job done - and done well.

Skill set
I design and build websites, administrate systems, host websites, dabble in marketing, re-design websites and raise public image, write and play test web-based games, usually with
4T2 Multimedia, and produce E-Commerce solutions.
I’m a hacker by definition (one who ‘hacks’ together bits and pieces to meet a need), my skill set consists of dabbling in xhtml, php, css, usability, graphic design, web design, promotional and advertising schemes for the web.
I have also done a lot of work with blogging platforms -
Wordpress and
Blogger, and
Cubecart e-commerce
I am also currently contracted to
Goodness Direct, an online health food shop, for marketing and promotion on the web. I maintain the
Goodness Direct Blog, writing articles and finding information, manage Adwords campaigns and examine any aspects of the website that could enhance customer experience.

The idea behind this site is that I want to give you the whole of me.
I’m a creative human being!
If you are a designer, I feel that design is a part of your personality. As much as a photographer can ‘see’ a photo before taking it (they have an ‘eye’), the skills of a designer are also in their make-up.
This leads me to feel that a designers website should not be a corporate affair, but rather an expression of their personality which gives clients, people, everyone, an insight in to who Justin Fleming is, not only in what he designs or codes, but also what he reads, listens to, laughs at, as it all contributes to the creativity that this human can produce.
What’s in a name?
Touchy-feely aside, I am a web designer and Fuchsia Shock Design is the name I run with, or FS Design for short.
The name ‘Fuchsia Shock’ comes from a play on words of the phrase ‘Future shock’ which I once saw in a magazine years and years ago (before I knew the internet existed. Actually, probably before the internet knew it existed itself).
I love the techno-crazy culture which those like the Japanese do so well, “cyberpunk” - a shocking vision of the future. An atomic psycho-pink colour I thought represented a techno feel, or ‘fuchsia’. Hence ‘Fuchsia Shock’ was conceived.
